The Toronto Club’s Annual General Meeting was an uplifting event for the 150 members who came to Georgetown’s Gellert Centre on April 26. The pre-lunch started with entertainment from the North Halton Community Singers. Following lunch, best-selling author Adam Shoalts gave a shock and awe presentation of his solo canoe travels in Canada.
Following lunch, Treasurer Margaret Corner reported that the Club is in good financial shape. President David Royle highlighted some new programs that were introduced over the last year which included a trail race for ultra-runners, a youth initiative and the launch of a trail angel program. He congratulated the trail maintenance team for a great year of bridge-building and in general keeping the trail well groomed. He also noted a very successful bus and winter coach program that exceeded expectations in terms of turnout.
