After six years as chair of the Toronto Bruce Trail Club’s Biodiversity team, Lynn McFerran is stepping down. The group is looking for a new leader to work with a dedicated group of volunteers. In collaboration with the land stewardship director, the biodiversity team has been involved in the invasive species removal projects, bird-nesting box installations, providing habitats for butterflies and bees, planting wildflowers and disease-resistant trees.
The ideal person has a keen interest in botany, biology and ecology and wants to work with others who support biodiversity work in the Toronto section. The biodiversity team started as a conservation committee many years ago, working to support the lands that the trail follows throughout the Toronto section. Learn more about their work from the group’s facebook page.
