The Toronto Bruce Trail Club is currently welcoming applications for the Board position of Volunteer Coordinator. In this role, one assists in the search of new Club volunteers, manages volunteer inquiries and organizes our volunteer recognition program. As a member of the Board, you are expected to attend regular monthly meetings. This position commences in April of 2023 after our Annual General Meeting is held. The Volunteer Coordinator assists in the search for new club volunteers, manages volunteer inquiries and organizes the volunteer recognition award program. The person recruits people to help with various committees and activities of the club. They would also respond to those Club members who express interest in helping from emails sourced through the Bruce Trail Conservancy and Toronto Club web sites. An important aspect of this role is coordinating the annual volunteer recognition awards, seeking submissions, managing the judging process, and presenting the awards to recipients. Other duties will involve help with special events related to volunteers, regular consultation with committee team leads, and maintaining a database of our volunteers and requirements.
We are seeking a Volunteer Coordinator with strong people and communications skills. Basic computer skills such as Word, Excel, and familiarity with database platforms are essential. The role requires an individual who is both organized and detail oriented. Some knowledge and background of the Bruce Trail Conservancy and the Toronto Club is preferred. Prior board experience with a not-for-profit would be an asset.
