First Blaze and Philip Gosling

First Blaze and Philip Gosling

Philip Gosling is one of the four original “founders” of the Bruce Trail, our first Trail Director and the founder of the Toronto Club. At a spot on the trail just north of Cambellville Rd (near Appleby Line), there is a plaque honouring the first blaze on the Bruce Trail, painted on July 1962 by Philip. Just north of the plaque at the 1 km mark, there is the start of the Philip Gosling Side Trail, leading to Hilton Falls Conservation Area.
