Bus and Coach Hiking Program

Welcome to the Toronto Bruce Trail Club Bus Hike and Coach Trip page. Hike the Bruce Trail and explore Ontario’s national and provincial parks without a car. Join us for outdoor adventures all year round. In the winter enjoy cross-country ski and winter hiking/snowshoeing outings to some of Ontario’s best Nordic ski centres like Arrowhead Provincial Park and Highlands Nordic. Registration for bus hikes typically starts two weeks in advance of trip dates. For more information, click on the links in the list below and review trip details.

Upcoming trips are listed below (non-members welcome). For full details and to register click on the event title.

Trips depart from York Mills Subway Station (in front of 10 York Mills Rd) or Kipling Subway Station (the North Parking Lot).

Bus Hike means travel is on a school bus. Coach Trip means travel is on a luxury highway coach (climatized, ample leg room, overhead bins for stowing backpacks, washroom on board).

Saturday 29 March 2025 8:30 School Bus Hike: Caledon Trailway, “Return Of The Pizza Hike” 12 km hike on Caledon Rail Trail. If the bus is full then free pizza will be delivered to us on the trail. If the bus is NOT full then you pay $5.00. Registration opens March 15 2024

Saturday 05 April 2025 8:30 School Bus Hike: Niagara E2E #1 of 6 Join Felix & Tim on a Spring series to hike the Niagara Section. The first hike will take us from Queenston Heights Park to Woodend Conservation Area for a distance of 13.3 km, dropout at 7 km. Moderate pace. Any fit hikers are welcome to join one or more of the hikes or all 6 to earn the badge.  Registration opens March 22nd

Saturday 19 April 2025 8:30 School Bus Hike: Niagara E2E #2 of 6 The second hike in the series will be from Woodend Conservation Area to Brock University 16.6 km, dropout at 9.5 km. Registration open April 5th.

Saturday 26 April 2025 8:30 Bus Hike: 2025 TBTC AGM Hike and Meeting. Attend the TBTC AGM at it’s new location in Georgetown featuring speaker Adam Shoalts, professional explorer and national best selling author. A choice of four hikes is being offered in the morning. Saturday 03 May 2025 8:30 Coach Trip: Presqu’ile Provincial Park Alpaca Hike Visit Old Mill Alpacas for their Alpaca Trek + Farm Tour (at a special dicounted rate for the TBTC) and a shorter, but scenic, hike in Presquile Provincial Park. Registration Open Now.

Saturday 10 May 2025 8:30 School Bus Hike: Niagara E2E #3 of 6 The 3rd hike in the series will take us from Decew Heritage House through Shorthills Provincial Park to Rockway Falls. 16.8 km, dropout at 7 km. Registration opens April 26th.

Saturday 17 May 2025 8:30 School Bus Hike: Niagara E2E #4 of 6 The 4th hike in the series will take us from Rockway Falls through vineyards and Balls Falls Conservation Area. 12.6 km, dropout at 9 km. Hilly and rocky. Registration opens May 3rd.

Saturday 24 May 2025 8:30  School Bus Hike: Niagara E2E #5 of 6 The 5th hike in the series will take us from from where we left off the previous week to Mountainview Conservation Area 13 km, dropout at 9.2 km Registration opens May 10th

Saturday 31 May 2025 8:00 School Bus Hike: Grand Valley Trail – Kitchener & Blair Join GVTA/TBTC Hike Leader Jeanette Vincent and TBTC Hiking Director/Hike Leader Tom Swales to explore two parts of the Grand Valley Trail along the Grand River in Kitchener & Blair in Spring wildflower season. Refreshment stop in historic Galt. Registration opens May 17th.

Saturday 07 June 2025 8:30 School Bus Hike: Niagara E2E #6 of 6 The sixth part of the series will take us from Mountainview Conservation Area to Beamer Conservation Area outside of Grimsby. Optional loop at the end around Beamer Conservation Area with a visit to Beamers Falls. This will be badge day for those who completed all the hikes. 13 km, dropout at 9.4 km. Registration opens May 24th.

Saturday 14 June 2025 9:00 School Bus Hike – A Day at the Beach! Join Marijo Roy for a day at Wasaga Beach. There will be an 8 km hike at moderate pace followed by time for swimming, visting the Nancy Island historic site. or site seeing in the area. Registration opens May 31st.

Saturday 12 July 2025 8:30  School Bus Hike: Pathways To Port Dover Lynn Valley Trail Easy hike along the Lynn Valley Rail Trail from Simcoe to Port Dover. Time to enjoy the Lake Erie beach town of Port Dover with perch and chips, the beach, shops, pubs, min golf, and other attractions. 12 km, dropout at 7 km. Registration Opens June 28th.

Saturday 23 August 2025 8:00 School Bus Hike: Rama Powwow and the Ganaraska Trail Hike on two sections of the Ganaraska Trail with a visit to the Rama Powwow in between. The hike will be timed to be at the 1:00 PM Grand Entry. There will be a couple of hours to watch the festivities and visit the market stalls. The afternoon hike will go into Orillia and be followed with s stop for ice cream.

Friday 19 September 2025 7:00 Coach Trip: Sept 19 to 21 Saugeen Peninsula Hiking Weekend Join Martina, Roland, George, and Tim for our annual Fall weekend on the beautiful Bruce (Saugeen) Peninsula. Moderate group about 12 km, fast group 15 km + each day. The Peninsula is unquestionably the most scenic part of the Bruce Trail but note that it is also the most challenging.
