Trail Maintenance crews active making improvements on our trails

This year the trail maintenance team completed multiple major projects on the Toronto section trails. Thank you to our dedicated trail captains and work teams who braved hot weather, bugs and some heavy lifting as you carried lumber and tools deep into the woods! Here is a snapshot of the major trail projects since January:

  • Replaced a 36-foot Bridge on the Main Trail just south of Scotsdale Farm
  • Added a 36 Bridge on a new side trail 950 meters between Fifth and Sixth Line
  • Installed new steps and repair a boardwalk on the Main Trail south of Scotsdale Farm
  • Replaced some steps and side logging north of Limehouse on the Main Trail.
  • Replaced some side logging on Phil Gosling ST
  • Redid the end of Walking Fern ST to put it on higher and drier ground.
  • Reposition our boundary sign at our north end on Creditview Rd. and reuse the boardwalk at another location.
  • Help install a new 170-meter-long boardwalk on our Main Trail east of Heritage Rd.
  • Help install a new 20-meter-long boardwalk on our Main Trail in Terra Cotta CA north of Tenth Line.
  • Replaced all the steps and side logging on a slope in a 50-meter section of our Terra Cotta ST
  • Moved the entry off Highway 7 to our Duff Pit ST to a drier easier entry point.
  • Added a new 940-meter-long ST between Duff Pit ST and Trafalgar ST on the Duff Pit property.
  • Repaired the bridge and side logging on the Credit Valley Footpath between River Rd. and the CN bridge.
  • Added 5 sections of boardwalk to the Main Trail and Maureen Smith ST south of Scotsdale Farm by reusing the old long bridge over the creek.
  • Rerouted our Main Trail around a washed- out bridge between St Helena and Dublin Line RA.
  • Repaired multiple sections of our boardwalks between 5th to 6th Line.
  • Remove loads of graffiti, added multiple blazes, did repairs to other structures, etc.
