Bookkeeper
We need a bookkeeper to help manage our day-to-day transactions. Here’s what we are looking for:
- TBTC Membership and Club Familiarity: You’re currently a member of the Toronto Bruce Trail Club (or ready to join!), and you have a good grasp of TBTC and BTC policies and overall mission.
- Financial Knowledge: Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles, including proficiency with QuickBooks Online.
- Not-for-Profit Experience: Prior experience working or volunteering with an NFP organization.
Trail Angels
The TBTC offers a volunteer-run shuttle service for hikers within the Toronto section of the Bruce Trail. Instead of driving two separate vehicles to leave at each end of a hike, hikers can rely on a Trail Angel to shuttle them. In exchange, hikers make a donation to the club to help support the future of the Trail.
This is a great and fun role for those interested in helping others, spreading good vibes, giving back to the trail, and reducing carbon emissions.
Land Management Relations
Our current Landowner Relations Director is looking for ‘local to the trail’ volunteers to help with landowner relations.
The role of the Landowner Relations Director is to maintain good relations with landowners both on and adjacent to the Bruce Trail. They handle landowner-related matters, dogs, hikers, use of trail, parking, etc.
We are seeking one or two ambassadors to train with and shadow the current director and to participate in the Land Management Committee as part of our Board succession plan.
Land Management Committee Coordinator
This role keeps the Land Management Committee organized. They work across the Toronto Club, the Bruce Trail Conservancy and the Land Management Trail Committee to:
- Record and keep General Records Management for all Toronto trail related matters.
- Act as secretary for the Land Management Committee – works with the Chair to plan meeting agendas and write up minutes.
- Support volunteering requests
The right candidate must like working with systems & people. They also must be familiar with Trail Management – experience as a trail captain, land steward or trail work parties is really important. While a local resident to the trail is not mandatory – being able to get to the trail and attend in person meetings is critical.
