Listed below are all of the Toronto Bruce Trail Club Badges
Special Event Badges
Badges are awarded when hikers complete club organized Special Event Hikes. Participants on these hikes pay a fee to cover the cost of the badge, bus transportation and checkpoints (water and snacks).

1. One-Day Rectangular Badge
The One-Day rectangular badge is awarded to participants in the Toronto Club One Day End-to-End Hike who hike the entire section’s main trail in one day (50.3 km). This Club organized event is held every two years (odd-numbered years). The date and registration information for this event will be published in the Toronto Club’s monthly communication, on the News Page of the Toronto website and in the Blazes section of the Bruce Trail Magazine, when available. -
2. Two-Day Badge (New in 2026!)

3. Limehouse Kiln Independent E2E (New in 2026!)
The Limehouse Kiln Independent E2E is awarded to those hikers who complete the entire Toronto section’s main trail (50.3 km) independently or through organized Club hikes. To receive this badge, please submit a log of your hikes (date hiked, starting Km and ending Km) along with $10 per badge ($15 for non-members), add a $2 postage fee (payable by e-transfer- see below), your email address and/or phone number, and a Bruce Trail membership number, if you have one, and your address.

4. Fundraising End To End Badge
The Toronto Bruce Trail Club, along with some of its sister clubs, has launched a special fundraising End to End badge to raise money to go towards preserving and protecting the Bruce Trail. Our badge which was designed by Joe Borges is of the beautiful stone arch, a historic remnant from an old mill on the Black Creek in Limehouse, Ontario. A collector’s item like no other!
To earn this beautiful Toronto Stained Glass Fundraiser badge, participants have two choices:
The first choice is to register on the BTC Hike Schedule for an organized group end-to-end hike series. The badge costs $30.00 for members and $40.00 for non-members. Payment is due at the time of registration.
The second choice is to hike the Main Trail of the Toronto Section (End to End) independently. To receive the independent badge, please submit a log of your hikes (date hiked, starting Km and ending Km) along with $30 per badge ($40 for non-members), a $2 postage fee (payable by e-transfer — see below), your email address and/or phone number, Bruce Trail membership number, if you have one, and your address.

5. Winter End-to-End Badge
The Winter End-to-End Badge is awarded to those hikers who complete the entire Toronto section’s main trail in one season between December 21st and March 20th. To receive this badge, please submit a log of your hikes (date hiked, starting Km and ending Km) along with $10 per badge ($15 for non-members), a $2 postage fee (payable by e-transfer — see below), your email address and/or phone number, and Bruce Trail membership number, if you have one, and your address.

6. Youth Badge
We are offering a Youth Badge for those up to 13 years. You must complete at least one hike on the Toronto section that is at least 3 km long or that takes at least one hour. You can hike with your family or other adults and, you’ll be able to hike as part of TBTC organized hikes or with family/school/clubs etc. This badge is free to anyone who qualifies. Send us: a) hike log (date, the distance or duration, where), b) an email address and/or phone number where we can reach you, c) the name of your school, d) your family’s Bruce Trail membership number if your family has one, and your address.

7. 60th Anniversary Badge
The 60th Anniversary badge celebrates our club’s founding and our first blaze in 1962. As of April 25, 2022 you can log your kms on either the main trail or side trails (or a combination of the two) in the Toronto section.
To earn this badge: (a) take a selfie beside the first blaze plaque at kilometre 1.0, and (b) hike 60 kms of Toronto section trail. You cannot use your kilometres hiked in earning this badge towards earning other badges. That is, the main trail hiked cannot be counted towards an End-to-End badge and side trails hiked cannot be counted towards a side trail badge. If you hike an in-and-out of a trail, you are allowed to count all of your kms hiked. You cannot hike the same section more than one in-and-out. See further info below on how to submit your log. Cost: $10 members, $15 non-members. Also add a $2 postage fee.

8. One-Day Independent Badge
This Toronto One-Day Badge is available to independent hikers who have completed the Toronto section since June 1, 2022. No more badges will be purchased after we award the several badges we currently have on hand! To earn this badge, one must hike the entire main trail of the Toronto section, Cheltenham to Kelso (50.3 km) in one day. This is an independent self-guided adventure, not an organized club event. To receive this badge, please submit a log of your hike (date hiked, starting km and ending m, observations along the trail) along with $10 per badge ($15 for non-members), add a $2 postage fee (payable by e-transfer, your email address and/or phone number, Bruce Trail membership number if you have one, and your address.

9. Biodiversity Naturalist Badge
The intention of this badge is to encourage hikers to be observant as they walk along the Trail. Requirements can be completed in a single hike or in a series of hikes that covers off all four seasons. All observations must be from the Toronto Section of the trail.
1. Photograph, identify and document each item in the 7 categories listed below.
2. Email your photos and documentation (species name, date, location, etc.) along with your name, mailing address, phone number and Member number to TBTCbiodiversity@gmail.com
3. Optional: Upload photos to iNaturalist.ca and add them to the Bruce Trail Project. New to iNaturalist? Not registered for the Bruce Trail Project? Visit https://brucetrail.org/what-we- do/#iNaturalist for details.
4. Once entries have been verified, you will be notified that you have met the requirements for the badge!
5. Order your Naturalist badge by e-transferring $10 (members) or $15 (non-members) plus $2 postage to tbtctreasurer211@gmail.com. It is important to note which badge you are applying for in the comment section.

10. Toronto Urban Badge
Earn the Toronto Urban Badge by exploring the city’s extensive network of beautiful trails!
You can complete the hikes independently or as part of an organized Club hike. There is no time limit or restriction on the number of hikes it takes to earn the badge. You just need to complete the distance requirement using one of the two options below.
Option 1: The Classic Circuit (Approx. 75km)
Complete the classic circular route covering the Finch Corridor, the Humber River Trail, the Waterfront Trail, and the Don River Trail.

Option 2: Flexible Urban Trails
New! You now have the option to earn the badge by hiking any combination of urban trails within Toronto, provided the total distance is equal to or greater than the 75km classic circuit.
- Requirement: Hikers choosing this flexible route are responsible for maintaining and submitting a log of their hikes to prove they have met the distance requirement.
Badges cost $10 to members and $15 for non-members. Please add a $2 postage fee.

11. Side Trail Badge
The Side Trail Badge is awarded to those hikers who complete 45 kms of the blue-blazed side trails in the Toronto section of the Bruce Trail, either by participating in Toronto or other Bruce Trail Club organized hikes or by arranging one’s own hikes. If you hike a side trail in both directions you can count those kms hiked twice. If you hike part of a side trail, you can include those kms hiked in your total. You can only count one in and out hike of a side trail towards your 45 km total. Submit your hike log which includes the days you hiked, the name of the side trail hiked and kms hiked. Make sure the total kms hiked exceeds 45. Badge cost is $10 per badge ($15 non-members), pay by e-transfer. (add a $2 postage fee). Send payment with email address and/or phone number, Bruce Trail Club membership number, if you have one, and your address.

12. Biodiversity Stewardship Badge
The Toronto Bruce Trail Club appreciates the interest and enthusiasm of our volunteers. Without them, the trail conditions would suffer, as would the entire ecosystems through which the trail passes. As an incentive to reward those who dedicate their time towards land stewardship activities, we have developed a badge!
The Biodiversity Stewardship Badge recognizes volunteers who join work parties organized by the Biodiversity Team to preserve and enhance the natural ecosystems along the Toronto Section of the Bruce Trail. This badge is available at no cost for those individuals who perform the following 6 tasks:
- “Invasive Species” (2 Activities): Participation in official club-organized work parties to remove invasive plant/tree species.
- “BDT Projects” (2 Activities): Participation in official Biodiversity Team work parties (e.g., seed garden weeding and harvesting, planting trees and wildflowers).
- “Additional BDT/Independent Initiatives” (2 Activities): These can be additional work parties or pre-approved independent tasks (e.g., garbage clean-up, bird nesting/box activities, biodiversity surveys). * Please keep and submit a photo record, precise location, and date/time of activities.
How to register as a Biodiversity Volunteer:

6. Youth Badge
We are offering a Youth Badge for those up to the age of 13 years old. You must complete at least one hike on the Toronto section that is at least 3 km long or that takes at least one hour. To request a badge please submit:
- a log of trails hiked (date, names of the trail, kms hiked)
- appropriate payment (see each badge payment requirements)
- your email address and/or phone number
- Bruce Trail Membership Number if you have one
- and your address so we can send you the badge
Please note: you cannot earn both the Winter End to End badge and the regular End to End badge by hiking the entire Toronto section once during the winter.
E-Transfers:

Please do not insert a password for the transfer if your financial institution requests one. Our financial institution will only accept auto deposit. Ensure you describe the type of badge you are purchasing in the message option of your e-transfer. Remember to also include your full mailing address.
There is an additional $2 fee for e-transfers to cover mailing costs (maximum 6 badges per purchase).
