We are looking for people to join our work parties to do field work on our trails. It’s a great opportunity to work outdoors and be with other people who love to do the same. We are happy to teach any skills you might feel you need to do the work.
You must be able to transport yourself to the sites which in the Toronto section of the trail are found from Milton in the south to Caledon in the north. You will be asked to bring some garden work gloves and personal items such as insect spray, sun screen, a hat, and lunch/snacks. We will supply other work tools needed. We work in groups of 3- 12 people generally.
We make announcements to those who express interest for work parties several times per year, generally from May to October (although some outside of this time) with some on weekends and some on weekdays. Participation in any one work party is voluntary and most people come to some but not all of our events.
Projects include clipping brush and weeds, repairs to structures such as boardwalks and bridges, painting blazes, removing graffiti and assisting our Trail Captains and trail maintenance staff in many other projects to maintain our trail.
Please note that this is for work scheduled for Spring 2026 so while we will connect with all interested – work likely won’t be scheduled until Spring 2026.
